The "Scagliola" estate is located on a hill at
San Siro in the town of Calosso.
The estate is run by the brothers Maggiorino and Mario Scagliola
and was started by their grandfather.
WINERY
Mario is in charge of the winery. The previous generations
were just growers selling their wines in bulk. From 1980 onwards, the Scagliola
brothers started investing in facilities to bottle Moscato wines and subsequently
added rotofermenters for red wines. The facilities are state of the art and
new buildings and machinery is added continuously to allow for growth.
VINEYARDS
Maggiorino is in charge of the vineyards. Fertilizers and chemicals are used in accordance with CE 2078 - A1. Treatments against threats to the health of the grapes are based on the particular conditions in each of the fields and the meteorological conditions at the time and are reduced to the necessary minimum. Fertilization is based on replenishment only and within the maxima of the regulations. The winery currently cultivates barbera, brachetto, cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, dolcetto, merlot and moscato grapes.
