Poggio (hill) Barbone (of the homeless) is located at Magliano, approximately 10 miles south of Scansano on the road to Porto Ercole. Morellino is a synonym for Sangiovese in the DOC of the medieval village of Scansano, located in the province of Maremma, on the southern coast of Tuscany.
The winery was build in 2004 and is a modern, state of the art facility.
In 2000, approximately 15 acres were planted with Sangiovese and Merlot vines.
In 2005 10 acres of Vermentino were added.
