ITALIAN CLASSICS
is a line of wines created by VINILANDIA USA. As an importer of high
quality estate grown wines it has asked its two affiliated wine makers
to create a line of affordable wines from the classic Italian
appellations and grape varieties. The goal was to make wines that are
true to type and have an excellent price/quality combination, providing
the US market with an easy introduction to the fine wines from the country, that produces more wine than any other in the greatest variety of types and styles.

The Pinot Grigio is created by Giuseppe Nicolis. Giuseppe, aside from his involvement with VINILANDIA USA, is the highly decorated enologist/wine maker of Az. Agr. Nicolis Angelo e Figli and an advisor to the organization of producers of the Valpolicella region. Giuseppe was the winemaker at Masi from 1988 to 1993.
The grapes are grown in Alto Adige near the border with the Veneto and the appellation is IGT “Delle Venezie”. The area is created over the centuries by the river Adige, with steep slopes and with soils consisting of material carried by the river from the Alps in the north. Viticulture has been recorded since 1253 in this area.
This straw yellow Pinot Grigio has a distinct floral aroma, is dry, full-bodied and persistent.
Serve at a temperature of 50/55 F with appetizers and fish dishes.

The Chianti DOCG is created by Marco Mazzarrini. Marco is the winemaker at great Tuscan producers such as Palazzo Vecchio, Poggio Amorelli, Sant’Appiano and Tramonti and his rapidly rising star is increasingly recognized by quality publications such as Decanter and the Wine Advocate.
Based on the Sangiovese grape, Chianti is still the dominant force in Tuscan viniculture and has long rated as the most Italian of wines. This is partly because it is the most voluminous and widely sold classified wine, but also because it has a
personality that cannot be pinned down. Its multifarious nature is quintessentially Italian.
The wine is ruby red, and has a cherry fruit aroma and is dry, slightly spicy with balanced tannins.
Excellent with pizza, pasta, mixed grill and hard cheeses.
