The winery is located in the village Baudana and the vineyards are in
the two important crus of Serralunga d'Alba: Baudana and Cerretta.
WINERY
Baudana started fermenting and bottling the grapes grown
in their
vineyards in 1996. Before that vintage the grapes were sold to other
producers.
The winery is a typical garage type operation, with modern stainless
steel fermentation tanks in various customized sizes to fit under the
different ceiling heights of the various rooms. Oak barrels and
bottles, in which the wines are aging, occupy every available square
foot.
VINEYARDS
Luigi and Fiorina Baudana cultivate 4.5 Ha or 11.25 acres since 1975.
The varieties include Nebbiolo, Barbera d'Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba and
Chardonnay. In 1996 an acre was planted with Sauvignon and Merlot to
experiment with non
indiginous varieties.
